Humber Barge Waterdog

The tunnel under the town of Revin was much less worrying than the Ham tunnel, it had a reassuring wide top so that the wheelhouse seemed safe. It was still worth trying to keep Waterdog to the left and rub down the walkway there.

We were lucky to get a berth at Revin which was tucked up the start of a non navigable arm of the Meuse. The whole quay side was full as we arrived and then turned around in the fast flowing river, no-one was moving along for us to make a bit of room so we were about to steam away when a small charter boat waved and promptly left, leaving us a perfect spot at the end of the moorings. We gratefully tied up and Tilly luxuriated in the lush cool grass on the hot summer day. This was a nice oasis at the edge of a busy industrial town.
