New Years Eve was marked with Lorna’s sponsored head shave for ‘Cancer Research UK’. She gave up hair cuts a few years ago to help save for retirement and her hair was really long. When a close friend was told that there was no more treatment for her, Lorna decided to raise some money for cancer research and started a ‘just giving’ page. Unfortunately, lockdown 3 closed the hair dresser who had volunteered her services so Lawrence stepped up to do it. It was shown live on Facebook.

Lorna was really pleased to have raised £2731.54 for Cancer Research UK and thanked all those who had donated. She was actually very pleased with the short hair as well, even if she had to tidy it up after Lawrence’s effort. All the hats that she had knitted and crocheted would come in handy in the cold dark months to come.

It certainly marked new year with a great event!
