This is Pete getting into helming Waterdog through multiple locks. Waterdog is 4.85m wide x 27m long and weighs about 100 tons. The locks were 5.05m wide x 39m long so we have 10cm to spare either side as we drive into them, it takes concentration to save bashing the rounded stone entrances. The rest of us helped by sighting along the side deck with helpful instructions like "It's very close this side", followed by "it's very close this side too"! Despite this help, we managed all locks without damaging lock walls or boat. In these photos Pete is explaining to Tracy how he can push this lever forward and the boat goes forward, he is saying "it's all very complicated and therefore its best if I do it and you watch and admire". I think she smacked him.
