Pete and Tracy joined us and we left Rethel and headed to the 27 lock climb from Attigny to Le Chesney.

On the first days cruise Pete spotted a frog struggling in a lock beside the boat. He quickly grabbed a deck brush and scooped the frog out to save it being crushed by the 100 ton Waterdog. He lowered it into the water after the lock and off it went.

Going north from Rethel there were plenty of moorings but here was one close to Seuil lock with a small town about 2km away. We had to push into a tree and cut some bracken away with secateurs to find a pair of bollards but after that we were snug against a flowery bank with a small concrete plinth where we could step off.
