Finally in November, we have our life back as the new wheelhouse top is installed. Waterdog is water tight and lockable for the first time in 10 months and we can live without flapping tarpaulin, rust dust and wet weather coming into the boat. We've missed daylight, water scenery and sunsets for far too long!

The new wheelhouse top is made from Iroko wood with double glazed laminated glass and 50mm thick plastic foam sandwich roof sections. It is designed to fold down to allow us under low bridges but be fully water tight and warm so it can act as our dining room come study. The steering position is about 8ft aft and 2ft lower than the previous steering position so we find steering more natural with less boat behind us to swing out and whack things.
